Soil Vapor Intrusion (SVI) Mitigation

GCE was chosen to install a Sub-slab Depressurization System (SSDS) with four extraction points beneath the footprint of a multi-story apartment building slab in Manhattan for soil vapor intrusion (SVI) mitigation in accordance with regulatory guidance. The system is intended to mitigate the migration of soil vapor intrusion of soil vapor through the site floor slab and into indoor air.

Installation of the SSDS was completed in 2020 in the area affected by sub-slab VOC vapors was confirmed in 2019. Ongoing system operation, maintenance and monitoring and periodic certification of continuing system function and related administrative controls will be performed.
